everyone who stopped by to show their support for me at the Boston Comic Con 2012. I had a great time at the show, even though both me and my wife had to leave earlier than expected due to feeling ill. Our daughter had been sick the whole week before and it was only a matter of time, I suppose, before we would get hit by it. Anyway, I hope those who attended had a good time and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Best regards,
Glen

I can totally relate with the heavily underpaid jobs that sap your creative drive. I've had my fair share and still have them from time to time when things are tight. I wish you the best of luck with your creative future. Just know, that you're not in this boat alone!

Take care,
Glen

It's awesome don't change it, generic is bad.
There are so many things that I am sure many artists and wanna be's like me can relate to.
Currently I am working 40 hours every week a job that is totally unrelated to art, but it pays my bills, so I can do what I love in the little free time that I have.
I've tried some "art/design" related jobs that were heavily underpaid, plus the stuff that they make you do is so stupid it started to kill my creative drive.

So I decided to wait until I have confidence in my work and I can state what I want to work on, even though it might be in 10 years from now.

Thanks again, and I am really glad that I found your gallery.

Hi Nikolay,
Wow, I appreciate your comment! I really struggled with that bio, even after it was posted on my website. I just wasn't sure about it. A few times I thought to take it down and come up with something a little more generic, more like a resume, but I was afraid that no one would know where I come from and what I'm about.
I wanted something that people could read and get a sense of who I am, but not reveal too much and lose that "artist mystique" that I enjoy
in reading about other artists. I also wanted to keep it real and be fun about it without being condescending to anyone who reads it. It's a daily struggle being an artist, well not so much in being an artist as it is to get your work out there and try and land those paying jobs we all dream of. Competition in saturated markets for a piece of the genre pie is not an easy thing to come by, that's for certain. But, perseverance is the key, I think. Draw, paint and create what you love, otherwise, what's the point right?

I loved the story you tell in your webpage. It's very real and inspiring. There is no easy way to being a professional artist. Thank you for reminding me that ;)
